Study Description

This study is exploring whether the way a teenagers' body breaks down nicotine plays a role in whether or not smokers become addicted to nicotine.

We need both smokers and non-smokers to enroll in our study.

If you agree to participate, you will come to UCSF for a day long visit.  During that visit, you will drink some INACTIVE nicotine.  You will also provide saliva samples and complete a questionnaire.  You will be paid for the visit.

Over the next 3 years, we will contact you every six months to complete some more questionnaires and provide a saliva sample.  You will be paid each time you complete a visit.
