Cotinine in Research
Cotinine is a safe way to measure how fast a person's body breaks down nicotine. Unlike nicotine, cotinine has no side effects.
Cotinine has been used in lots of research studies and has been safely given to people of all ages. Right now, there is a study taking place where cotinine is being given to babies as young as 2 months old. It has also been used in studies of pregnant women, as well as healthy adolescents and adults.
